The seventh part of the term project will be the project itself. This part will be due June 5. Please choose one of the nine options on the attachment. Then, create your project following the specific guidelines. You may record yourself for several of the options, but if you'd rather present directly to me, let me know and we can schedule a time to meet.
|
The sixth part of the term project will build towards the final project. This part is due May 29. First, identify a societal problem you see in the world today; this can be local or global. Then, explain a plan to help solve that problem. Follow the prompts on the attachment to write your proposal.

The fifth part of the term project is a combination of weeks 1-3, but you'll be writing about characters from your independent reading book. This part is due May 22. There are two options in the video, but only 1 option for late submission unfortunately, so make sure you're doing option 1 if you watch the video. Please contact me with any questions. Here's a link to the Microsoft Form for week 5. If you don't want to use Forms, then just answer the questions in a Word document. I know people have had trouble with Microsoft deleting their answers when they submit the Forms.
|
The fourth part of the term project asks you to creatively express your understanding of the characters you've already written about. This part is due May 15. Read the assignment sheet and choose 1 of the 7 options. I did not create a Form for this assignment since it is so open-ended, so you may either email me your work or submit it through Teams. Also, I will be using the attached rubric to grade assignments for this week and until the end of the school year. If you're not sure what something means, I explain in the video. Contact me with further questions if the video isn't clear enough.

The third part of the term project will ask you to compare the impact of 2 characters you wrote about in previous weeks. This part is due May 8. You can complete the assignment in Word or Forms. Choose one of the options below to submit your work. If you choose to write in Word, please email your responses to me. If you choose Forms, I will automatically receive your assignment when you submit. Note about Forms: I have heard from a few students that their work is being erased when they submit their Form. I don't know if this is an issue with the Form for week 3, or with Microsoft Forms in general, but if you use the provided Form to complete the work, I'd recommend copy-pasting your responses to Word before hitting submit.

The second part of the term project will be similar to the first. This part is due May 1. If you would like to complete this part in Word and email an attachment to me, you can use the same files from week one below. If you prefer Microsoft Forms, click on this to get the Week Two Form. You will still need to complete the Venn diagram.

Third distance learning assignment will be a long term project with weekly benchmarks. The first part will be due April 24th. Click the links below for an overview of the assignment, supplemental materials to help, and the worksheet you should be turning in. Your choices for turning it in are:
Feel free to email me, write on the class Teams page, or send me a message in Remind if you have questions.
- Download the Word document, edit it with your responses, then email me the edited version
- Print out the worksheet and fill it out, then email me a picture or scan
- Write your answer down on a separate sheet and email those responses to me. If you do this, you don't need to keep the same format, as long as you answer all the questions.
Feel free to email me, write on the class Teams page, or send me a message in Remind if you have questions.

Second distance learning assignment will be due April 20th. I will send an email on Monday, April 6th with more details, but if you wanted to get a head start, you can download it below. Please email me once when you have completed the entire assignment, with all five journal entries attached. It was overwhelming trying to keep emails from over 100 students emailing me 3 or 4 times with different parts of the assignment. You can either attach each of the journals, or make a folder in Office and share the folder with me. You can still feel free to email me or send a message in Teams or Remind if you need to ask a question. The one-email limit is only for the assignment itself. Thank you, and hope you're all staying safe!

Welcome to Mr. Paradis's Individual and Society class! Because we don't meet everyday, I think it would be helpful if you could get in touch with me whenever you have a question or something you need to tell me. Since one absence is basically the same as two absences in previous years, hopefully this will help everyone stay on track with their class even if they are absent. I will do my best to post homework assignments and readings on this page, as well as any videos we watch and other important information. The best way to stay on track, though, would be to download the Remind app on your phone and sign up for this class. You need to use your phone to get texts, but your phone number will not be shared with me or anyone else. I'm going to allow time right now to do that, but if you don't have your phone or it's out of batteries or you're having trouble connecting to the internet, you can use a different method at any time. If you are signing up for Remind on your own, either:
- text the following code to 81010 - @9ddg86
- download the Remind app, select "Join a Class", then type in the following code: 9ddg86
